Havana unveils an open car museum, cars running on most of its wheels along the narrow city streets. Just watch the photos of these beauties reviving the splendor of old times….
Photos of old cars in today’s Havana.
Hemingway’s time did not vanish from the streets of today’s Havana.
And this is not only due to the "collective" memory of Cubans, nor bars serving his favorite drinks. The vivid memories of his time are all these colorful cars you can see here and there on the streets.
You would say - a kind of a public museum that normally you will have to pay entrance fees to visit.
These road-dinosaurs so beautifully unveil the long lost past adding colors to the modern Havana City of today.
Sure – many details are already altered by owners desperately trying to keep them on the road, but to me they still seem very impressive as the almost religiously loved and respected relics from the quite forgotten past…..

Old cars on Havana streets.
You will be amazed - although I'm sure they will not pass any technical inspection, they all somehow miraculously drive without any visible accidents.
Sometimes you would think - it is wiser to have only an old car picture than the car itself but I'm sure not everybody will agree with such statement. Certainly the true lovers of old cars will find thousands of arguments proving the contrary....
Well, to be truthful- as the reliability seems to be at the low end of the scale, the certainty to reach the destination is probably not very high.
Yet, what we largely underestimate, especially in the era of our computer-controlled cars when almost any failure ends in the specialized garage (and requires a "deep pocket") these old cars can be fixed on the road.
And believe me – drivers and owners of these cars seem to have the 6th sense to figure out what went wrong, and the skills of a well trained technician to fix it in the spot with the improvised tools, and so-called "replacement parts" :-).
I hope these Free Old Cars Pictures from Havana brought you the atmosphere of streets from the remote past. Something you already forgot about, yet something that is so charming and beautifully colorful. Well - "The Past"....
